The Difference Between LED and Neon Signs
Have neon signs adorned shops, roads, street corners and window sills for many years. LEDs are a relatively new invention, but they have started shading and on neon signs. There must be some advantages in using LED, so you can eat at the market share of the ever popular neon signs. An LED or light emitting diodes semiconductor device is a solid state that can convert electrical energy directly into light energy. To get a sample of the LED glows, it is placed adjacent to each other in a polymer jacket, just so far apart as to permit overlap of glow and gives a constant and regular light. LEDs are bright and clear to read from any distance while neon signs tend to get blurred when viewed from a distance. Even during the time of day with bright sunshine, LED signs can be seen to glow clearly, while you can ‘t do if a neon sign is on or off. Samples? Â LEDs have a lifetime of 100,000 hours where as the neon sign is plagued by constant output of gas and needs to be refilled. Samples? Â LEDs are environmentally friendly regarding neon signs, it does not emit any gases while neon signs leak out toxic gases such as argon and mercury. The use of samples? LED just 10 watts of power in contrast with 8-10 measures the time of a higher wattage used by neon signs that are so much lower running costs. Samples?
LEDs are extremely malleable and can be bent in any direction easily, neon signs, being made of the need for specialized processes to turn and twist glass. Samples? LEDs are made to a number of LED boards can use animation, flashing and swinging easily, while neon signs do not offer such options. It seems as if the new technology of LED signs will be around for quite some time.
