    And since 2002 all crossing signs have the Hand/Man configuration, no more walk. For “T”, there’s only one telephone booth left on West End Avenue. I also like vintage Sesame Street just for the vintage NYC clips.

    This was recorded in september 1969 three months before sesame street started in nov 1969.

    I remember being quite fascinated by this clip as a child. Seeing each letter in completely different styles was kinda cool to my young eyes.

    And that jazzy score… like buttah!

    This is probably my favorite of all Raposo’s instrumentals. I was a percussionist back in my high school wind ensemble, and I used to play this song all the time on the vibraphone…people would say, “Where is that song from? That sounds so familiar!”

    Joe Raposo made the phattest jams for any kids program ever created.His death in 89 was a tremendous loss.

    Sounds right to me. Notice the license plate (“Y”), which has a February, 1970 validation decal. That means it was (most likely) shot in the window of February, 1969 to February, 1970.
