What sealant would be the best to use on an outdoor sign written with permanent marker?

The sign is made from a sheet of plywood that was painted white, then written on with permanent marker. I need a clear coat of sealant to use so that the marker will not wash away over time. This sign will be outside in the weather all year round. It also will need to be a type that wont make the marker bleed when being applied. What should I use?

Depends on if it was water-based or oil-based paint. Go to HD or Lowe’s and get their water based sealer.

i have a piece of sanded wood and using it for a sign…. it has 2 primer and 2 ext satin enamal finish coats.. i had a vinyl sign applied to it…its in pieces not a full sheet its going to hang under a porch .. what is recomened to seal the entire surface so the vinyl will not peel from the board due to the elements…. i live in south florida
